What would happen if you gave the world a giant gift? The gift would be yours, too, of course. I'm talking about the gift of showing up your most authentic way. What if we let people truly know us?
My guess is we'd be slightly afraid at first. I know this, because as I age, I grow more and more comfortable being uncomfortable- being true to my core. Like standing in front of an audience naked, some things we protect have been kept private for so long it is truly difficult to know what people would say if they knew. However, what if there really is more harm than good in hiding? What if there are droves of others who really need to see your light- your unique ideas, your idiosyncrasies and your true, creative beauty? What if by being more real, everyone around you was inspired to be real around you, too?
Wouldn't it be nice to do more than scratch the surface? Wouldn't it be frightening and yet liberating to say, "Here I am, take it or leave it!" If you find others fall away when they see you for all of your many layers of amazing and vulnerable and flawed and mended and still healing or growing and yearning- they truly aren't the people who are going to help you to evolve into the most joyful expression of yourself anyway.
What's more- the resistance or shaming others might provide us are ingredients for true growth. Rising above that need to "people please" allows us to move beyond shame and move into resilience. Our authentic resiliency is an invaluable gift someone can give you by questioning or judging or excluding. See those people who resist you as people deserving your respect, but people you don't give your power to. Allow them to launch you into a whole new level of acceptance for yourself and the world- exactly as they are, exactly as we are. We are too polarized as a planet and those who don't nurture our growth with their love and acceptance do so by allowing us to rise beyond their limiting beliefs.
So, set an intention to walk a little more YOUR walk. Set an intention to be a little more YOU today.
