Affirmations are positive statements about yourself or a situation that empower your subconscious mind and offer support for taking action in alignment with your values, beliefs and higher purpose. I first started using them years ago when I was very sick and wanted to heal my body. Louise Haye wrote a beautiful book with the title, "You Can Heal Your Life". As I walked, I'd often think, "My body is a powerful healing machine" or, "All is well in my world". The negative thoughts from my subconscious would still come up from air after swimming in that deep ocean inside my soul. I'd tell them, "out" and replace the negative statement with a new, more positive one.
This morning's session was lead by Kathy MGraff, a light healer with 20+ years in education and healing. She taught us 5 simple steps for writing our own affirmation statements.
It was very cool to see the level of engagement in our group, to hear one another's affirmations and to consider the way we can change the subconscious if we actively work on our inner thoughts now. I am so grateful that we had this session with Kathy and I very much look forward to our next session where we get to experience light healing with her on April 20th! You won't want to miss that!

A teacher of 19 years, a writer, a wellness advocate, fitness lover and intuitive mother to two boys, I believe that self love is the first step in helping lifting others. Our loved ones develop inner nurturing, we learn to show up in authentic ways in the world, and we discover our own potential when we take time to nurture ourselves. Our stories are our own, our voices are needed in this world, and we can change the world by lifting the vibration of our collective communities. It all starts inside our own hearts.
