Once a week or every other week, I like to whip up some solutions that we can all benefit from. As the state begins to open up and the season is warming up, too, we have a new variety of new circumstances to navigate. This means, we want to be armed with oils that will assist us on multiple levels- health, emotions and prevention.
I love that for short money, you can order a little key chain to carry around your favorite oils and blends. Don't be intimidated, these blends are very simple to make!
For our top priorities, I made an allergy roller (since all but Patty has them in my house). It consists of 2drops lemon, 2 lavender, 1 peppermint (I don't like so much directly on the skin and it's potent) per 2tsp of fractionated coconut oil. If we decide to go for a hike or the boys are out playing baseball, we will use this before the allergies start by rolling a tiny bit at the temples (make sure you are wearing a hat or sunblock as citrus oils are photosensitive) and just below the nose.
The second bottle is an anti-stress roller. The truth is... the boys and I are not used to being out and about with other people anymore. For my oldest, with asthma, he is particularly nervous about being near people- mask or not. Many of us are in this boat. Adaptiv is an amazing mood stabilizing blend that has been proven through research to support the mood, decrease the worry and increase the focus in people. I love to diffuse it, but you can also roll it down the insides of the forearms, at the nape of the neck and pulse points. Roll it on the palms and inhale it for a few minutes for instant benefits. I diluted with fractionated coconut oil, again.
Bugs are annoying. I love bugs from afar. They buzz around, they have wings (truthfully something I always wanted as a kid), the pollinate our plants (thank you!) but, no one wants bugs biting, infecting, stinging or crawling on them. Especially not ticks. I did some research to select oils that are also ok for pets (there is a great site you can access backed by a number of reputable vets for more on this)https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/essential-oils-for-dogs/. Check out their "About me Page". We won't roll the roller ball on our new puppy, but we could roll it on ourselves, especially around our ankles. We can will roll it on the edges of the fabric blanket that we put our pup on to romp around with less tics crawling onto. I used Terrashield, cederwood, lemongrass and peppermint. Of course, this is also significantly dilluted with fractionated coconut oil. Lemongrass is not a citrus despite it's name... so it shouldn't impact or cause burns.
Immunity and Cleansing Support: OnGuard is dilluted in the last roller. It has great benefits for supporting and protecting the immune system. After cleaning our dirty hands, we can roll this on to offer additional cleansing and protection. It also smells heavenly. So, after visiting a public trail or a stop at the local nursery, we will be prepared to ensure we aren't taking too many squiggly little germs with us. Again, dilute with fractionated coconut oil to support these aromatic compounds as the enter the skin and travel where we want them- rather than dissolving into the atmosphere.
