Planning For Success, Not Perfection

Picture
Did you get stuck, too? So many of us allowed the quarantine and shift to allow our edges to blur a bit. We stopped worrying so much about planning every moment because we never knew what was coming next.

It worked for. a while. However, many of us found ourselves experiencing a sense of apathy about our day- embracing that sense of impending obstacles and no longer designing our lives.

This past weekend, I was reminded about how invigorating it is to implement a system for my life- maybe not a hard and fast perfect plan, but a mold-able one with my priorities scheduled in. If you've been feeling like me and many of my friends, the fall and the transition from one season to the next- the upcoming school books and marathon of zoom sessions has created a need to input our preferences into the action steps now- lest we be plowed under by it all again like we were in the spring.

Some simple steps to ensure success for me involve preparing workout clothes in advance so even if I don't look like a perfect Kelsey Wells, I don't simply skip the movement out of convenience. I set my clothes out and don't want to leave them laying around unused like a reminder of my transgression from the self love routine.

My vitamins and my son's are set up in advance so I don't skip and feel the drain and fatigue that comes with sub par nutrition. I love my Lifelong Vitality Pack, probiotics and supplements from DoTERRA. They are bio-available which means nothing is wasted (take that literally). I add in a Mito 2 Max which is a slow release energy supplement that works at the cellular level to beat brain fog.

Most excitingly, this week, I got back to finding recipes that tempted my taste buds. So often I get discouraged around food because my health conditions limit me and time limits me, but, with my Insta Cart at the ready and my gorgeous Clean Eating Mags just waiting, I found some delicious meals that were fast, healthful and put to use the gardens we planted this year.

Even if I veer from this plan, it's exciting and empowering to have it. I cooked three meals yesterday and prepped my chocolate cherry oats in the crock pot for some of the breakfasts. I've got my bacon all set and just savored a garden fresh BLT on a flatout foldover bread. A shorter workout and walk with a friend have already increased my good vibes.

It's just nice to take something into our hands when we can. We can't control the virus, we can't control the schools, but we can control our diet, exercise and mood within our homes. When we take the time to breathe and do this, it feels good and we are more kind and loving to the ones we nurture.

How do you prepare for success?

Love,
LeeAnn
